The Timber Look Where Weight Is a Constraint
Not every application can carry the load of a full-section aluminium batten. Suspended ceiling systems, feature screens over glazing, lightweight privacy screens on balconies and internal partitions in commercial fitout all have loading constraints that make standard structural batten profiles impractical or over-engineered. WoodEx® Lightweight Clip-On Battens are built specifically for these applications.

What Makes the Lightweight Version Different
Reduced weight per metre
The lighter aluminium section means lower dead load on the backing structure or ceiling grid, relevant for suspended ceiling applications, balcony screens and any installation where the supporting structure has loading limitations.
Same finish and colour range
Lightweight Clip-On Battens share the same sublimation timber-look finish as the full WoodEx® system, enabling finish continuity between lightweight and standard batten applications on the same project.
Same concealed clip-on system
The two-part clip fixing is identical in operation to the standard Clip-On Batten system: clean face, no visible fixings, and individual battens replaceable without disturbing adjacent elements.
Internal ceiling note
WoodEx® Lightweight Clip-On Battens are listed for internal ceiling applications; the reduced section weight makes them appropriate for suspended ceiling grids and lightweight ceiling structures where standard profiles would create excess loading.

Choosing Between Clip-On Battens and Lightweight Clip-On Battens
The decision between standard WoodEx® Clip-On Battens and the Lightweight version comes down to three questions: What is the loading capacity of the backing structure? Is the application internal or external? And what are the fire classification requirements?
