The Timber Look, Without Timber's To-Do List
Timber cladding has built an enduring presence in Australian residential design, from the weathered hardwood of coastal homes to the dark-stained feature walls of contemporary urban architecture. It’s a material that carries warmth, character and a sense of place. It also carries a maintenance programme that, in Australian conditions, never really ends.
Territory™ Woodlands delivers the visual richness of stained and aged timber in a prefinished cement-bonded panel that won’t warp, rot or fade. Authentic grain texture pressed directly into the panel surface, a NichiGuard® self-cleaning coating that handles UV and weathering, and seven distinct timber finishes that cover the full spectrum of Australian timber aesthetics, from the silver greys of eucalypt bush to the deep warmth of tropical hardwood. Available through CSP Architectural.

Seven Timber Finishes
Each Woodlands finish captures a distinct timber character, colour, grain texture and spacing all specified to replicate a particular timber aesthetic. They’re designed to be used individually or in combination, and all are compatible with Cemintel’s Barestone® and Surround panels on the same building.
The joint spacing is not cosmetic, it is part of the product’s design. Ebony, Birch and Limed use 110mm spacing for a tighter, more board-like appearance. Grey Gum, Smoked and Teak use 150mm for a wider-board character. Kwilla Slats uses a tight 45mm spacing that creates a distinct slatted profile unlike any other Woodlands finish.
Where Territory™ Woodlands Works
Residential facades - contemporary to coastal
The Woodlands range covers the full spectrum of residential timber aesthetics. Grey Gum and Smoked suit bushland and coastal settings where weathered eucalypt tones read naturally in the landscape. Birch and Limed suit Scandinavian-influenced or coastal contemporary palettes. Ebony and Teak suit darker, bolder residential facades.
Apartment and medium-density facades
Territory™ Woodlands is specifically listed for apartment facades; the prefinished surface eliminates the trades and timeline risk of site-painting on multi-storey residential projects. Kwilla Slats in particular creates a strong vertical feature element on apartment facades that reads well at scale.
Feature walls - internal and external
Territory™ Woodlands is suitable for internal feature wall applications as well as external facades. The same prefinished timber aesthetic on a feature wall behind a kitchen bench, in a residential entry or in a commercial lobby delivers warmth without any of the humidity management challenges that real timber faces in interior settings.
Renovation and re-cladding
Where deteriorated timber cladding is being replaced or where a building’s facade is being updated, Territory™ Woodlands provides a direct like-for-like aesthetic replacement. The proprietary clip-fix system installs over most common substrates and requires no painting after installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all seven Territory™ Woodlands finishes the same panel and installation system?
Yes. All seven Woodlands finishes use the same 470mm × 3030mm × 16mm cement-bonded fibrous particle panel with the same proprietary clip-fix system creating a 15mm ventilated cavity. The differences between finishes are the surface colour, grain texture and joint spacing, Ebony, Birch and Limed have 110mm joint spacing; Grey Gum, Smoked and Teak have 150mm spacing; Kwilla Slats has 45mm spacing. Installation method (horizontal or vertical) is available for all Woodlands finishes.
Is Territory™ Woodlands suitable for bushfire-prone areas?
Yes. The Territory™ wall system can achieve Bushfire Attack Level BAL40 when installed in accordance with Australian Standard AS3959 and Cemintel’s design and installation guides. For BAL40 applications, contact our team for the specific installation guide relevant to your project location and BAL classification.
Can Territory™ Woodlands be used on internal walls?
Yes. Territory™ Woodlands is listed for internal feature wall applications as well as external facades, apartment facades, commercial facades and external cladding. The same proprietary clip-fix system used externally is used internally, with an appropriate internal installation guide available from Cemintel.
What is the NichiGuard® coating?
NichiGuard® is a self-cleaning surface coating applied to Territory™ Woodlands panels as part of a multi-layer prefinishing process. The coating contains silica particles that attract atmospheric moisture, forming a thin film on the panel surface. This film acts as a barrier that prevents airborne contaminants from reaching the panel and causing staining or colour discolouration. The result is a surface that resists UV fade and stays cleaner between maintenance cycles.
Can Territory™ Woodlands be combined with Barestone® panels on the same building?
Yes. Territory™ Woodlands, and all Territory™ cladding products, use a fixing system that is compatible with Cemintel’s Barestone® and Surround cladding panels. This means architects and builders can combine different Cemintel prefinished products on the same facade within a single installation system.
