Timber Warmth Overhead, No Maintenance Required
There’s something about a timber-lined ceiling that raises a room. Not necessarily literally, though raked ceilings and high voids can do that, but in terms of atmosphere. Warmth, craft, a sense that the space has been considered. It’s a quality that resonates in residential living areas, in hospitality settings, in commercial reception spaces and in the covered outdoor areas where Australian living actually happens.

The Case for Aluminium Over Timber on Ceilings
Dimensional stability
Timber expands and contracts with humidity changes; a timber ceiling can bow, cup or open joints over time as moisture levels fluctuate. Aluminium doesn't move. Every board stays flat, every joint stays tight.
No surface treatment required
Oiling or coating a ceiling is significantly more difficult than treating a wall. WoodEx® requires none of it; the sublimation finish is the permanent surface, needing only the same wipe-down you'd give any other ceiling material.
Mould and moisture resistance
Covered outdoor ceilings and bathrooms are two of the most common locations for timber ceiling failure, moisture accumulation, mould growth and surface deterioration. The aluminium substrate of WoodEx® gives none of these issues any foothold.
Colour and grain consistency
Natural timber boards vary in grain, knot pattern and colour; matching batches over time is challenging. WoodEx®'s sublimation finish is consistent across every board in the system, making additions and replacements straightforward.
Internal and External Ceiling Applications
WoodEx® Ceiling Lining is designed for internal/external ceiling applications, feature ceilings in residential and commercial settings, covered alfresco areas, pergola and verandah ceilings, shopping centre atriums, commercial reception areas and any overhead surface where timber warmth is part of the design intent.
