Promat mission is to provide clients with sustainable, high performance insulating solutions using advanced PromaX ® technology. Composed of calcium silicate material, it can achieve fire resistant at high temperatures up to 1,400°C and for more than 4 hours. In addition to being non-combustible product, Promat can also achieve high thermal and acoustic properties. The product is mould and impact resistant, being a light one-layer product it is not like any fire-rated materials out in the market. Promat Building Material Products is the generic term that usually describes the integrated Promat Board System, the Promat PROMASEAL®/PROMASTOP® penetration sealing systems and the Cafco spray & paint systems. Each has its specific application and function but all provide exceptionally high levels of effective performance and fire protection.
Promaseal Acrylic Sealant
PROMASEAL®-A Acrylic Sealant (SA-A) is a gunable sealant designed for the sealing of joints and services penetrations against the spread of fire, smoke and hot gases for up to 240 minutes fire resistance when tested to AS 1530: Part 4, AS 4072: Part 1 and BS 476: Part 20. In addition, PROMASEAL®-A Acrylic Sealant may be used as acoustic sealant due to its density and flexibility.
PROMASEAL®-A Acrylic Sealant should be used in conjunction with all penetration sealing systems to provide a secure cold smoke seal. Where the location of a fire is some distance from a penetration seal, there will be insufficient heat to activate an intumescent material. As such, cool smoke can rapidly pass through buildings, creating a toxic, life-threatening environment.
While the use of a cold smoke seal is not needed for meeting fire resistance performance requirements, it should be considered as a necessity to prevent smoke movement through buildings via penetrations. It is therefore highly recommended.

PROMASEAL® CFC Conduit Collars are designed for retrofitting around small (<32mm) plastic conduit pipes that pass through fire walls or floor slabs. PROMASEAL® CFC Conduit Collars are available in one size (32mm) and can be used on smaller diameter conduits without modification.
PROMASEAL® FC Retrofit Collar (square base) and the PROMASEAL® FCS Retrofit Collar (circular base) are at the heart of the Promat fire stopping range of products and have many performance characteristics in common.
The PROMASEAL® FC Retrofit Collar (square base) is a multi-purpose collar designed for use with concrete slabs, masonry and lightweight walls and lined ceilings. They can be split open, enabling retrofitting as and when necessary. Available in a range of sizes to suit plastic pipes up to 315mm* outside diameter, PROMASEAL® FC Retrofit Collar are tested for up to 240 minutes FRL in accordance with the criteria of AS 1530: Part 4 and AS 4072: Part 1 with various types and sizes of plastic pipe.
PROMASEAL® FCS Retrofit Collars (circular base) are designed to fit around installed pipes that pass through floor slabs and have been tested with uPVC, HDPE and ABS pipes in accordance with the criteria of AS 1530: Part 4: 1997 and AS 4072: Part 1, on pipes up to 150mm diameter.
PROMASEAL® FCS Retrofit Collars have also been tested for up to 240 minutes of FRL in floors with uPVC pipes and ABS pipes, and 180 minutes in floors with HDPE pipe (except 100mm which is tested to 240 minutes), and on floors and walls for Post Mix drink lines for 120 minutes.
PROMASEAL® FCW Wall Collar
PROMASEAL® FCW Wall Collars is designed for insertion into wall elements made of calcium silicate, plasterboard, concrete or masonry, and have been tested on uPVC and HDPE pipes for up to 120 minutes fire rating in accordance with AS 1530: Part 4, AS 4072: Part 1 and BS 476: Part 20. Similar to FC or FCS, this is a split type collar enabling retro fitting where necessary.

PROMASEAL® FyreStrip (SE) is a compressible, flexible, fire resistant seal which is used where movement joints are formed in the structure of building. It consists of layers of intumescent material bonded to a special foam and has been successfully fire tested up to 240 minutes in joints within masonry or concrete walls and concrete floors in accordance with the relevant criteria of BS 476: Part 20, AS 1530: Part 4 and AS 4072: Part 1.
PROMASEAL® FyreStrip is available in the following dimensions:
The strips are ideal for sealing movement joints at junctions between compartment walls and floors. Their flexibility makes them suitable for use in a variety of configurations. The fire performance of PROMASEAL®FyreStrip will vary according to the particular application. In addition, the width of the gap into which the strip is inserted, as well as their orientation, will have an effect on the level of protection required.
PROMASEAL® IBS™ (SI) is a flexible fire protection foam strip used for sealing joints and gaps within walls or floors. It has excellent versatility, second only to sealant, particularly when dealing with fire stopping for joints, gaps, building and service movement etc. PROMASEAL® IBS™ can be used as a stand alone product or with a cover of PROMASEAL®-A Acrylic Sealant where required.
Tested up to 240 minutes fire resistance according to AS 1540: Part 4 and AS 4072: Part 1. The fire resistance level of PROMASEAL® IBS™ will vary and applications are dependent on the barrier and the type and size of service.
Areas of application to be considered include cable and pipe penetrations, deflection heads of partitions and walls and joints within walls, around fire dampers, floor joints, cable trays, control joints etc. PROMASEAL®IBS™ is also supplied as a component part of lightweight fire and acoustic wall systems which have been developed to satisfy the ever growing demand for noise abatement in residential and commercial applications. These wall systems are primarily used for partitions, corridor and shaft walls in high rise apartments, multi-residential developments, hotels and commercial construction. PROMASEAL® Mortar (SM) is a lightweight, fire resistant, cement based product. Normal concrete weighs 2400kg/m³. Lightweight concrete weighs 1600-1800kg/m³ whilst PROMASEAL® Mortar weighs approximately 700kg/m³. This means that the formwork required is equally lightweight and simple to install.
PROMASEAL® Mortar can be pre-mixed and kept for several hours in a plastic bucket with an air tight lid. This enables an installer to do a number of small openings in a building without having to make repeated and time consuming mixes at the site.
Dependent on weather conditions, PROMASEAL® Mortar can set quickly in a few hours. It is easy to create new holes withIN PROMASEAL® Mortar for the installation of new services, and equally easy to repair with itself.
PROMASEAL® Mortar does not shrink on drying and can be installed at the last minute before inspection and after all services are installed.
PROMASEAL® Mortar can provide a fully insulated system. Services through the mortar will have various insulation levels determined by type of services and their dimensions. Please consult Promat for further details.
PROMASEAL® Mortar is grey in colour and supplied in convenient 20kg bags.
PROMASEAL® Pillows (SP) are compressive products made of quality cloth envelopes enclosing high temperature, granulated fire resistant material. The pillows are used to maintain the fire resistance of walls and floors, where openings for services are located. They are typically installed around cables and non-combustible pipes which need to be regularly altered.
PROMASEAL® Pillows are available in THREE sizes:
1) Large, 250mm x 300mm x 40mm;
Medium, 250mm x 200mm x 40mm; and
Small, 250mm x 100mm x 30mm.
PROMASEAL® Pillows have been successfully tested and assessed by independent laboratories to meet the requirements of AS 1530: Part 4 and BS 476: Part 20 for fire ratings in excess of 180 minutes. For FRL above 180 minutes, please consult Promat. When exposed to fire the pillows will remain in place and form a fire barrier by charring and creating a solid mass of insulating material.
PROMATECT® 100 comprises autoclaved calcium silicate spheres (PROMAXON® is a synthetic hydrated calcium silicate in spherical form) bound in a mineral matrix. PromaX® technology provides excellent fire performance in most applications.
PROMATECT® 100 is off-white in colour. One face is smooth and ready to form a finished surface, able to receive almost any form of architectural/finish treatment. The reverse face is sanded.
PROMATECT® 100 is resistant to the effects of moisture and will not physically deteriorate when used in damp or humid conditions. Performance characteristics are not degraded by age or moisture. However, PROMATECT® 100 is not designed for use in areas subject to continual damp or high temperatures. PROMATECT® 100 is for internal applications only.
PROMATECT®-N is a non-combustible matrix engineered mineral board reinforced with selected fibres and fillers. It is formulated without inorganic fibres and does not contain formaldehyde.
PROMATECT®-N is light beige or grey in colour and has a smooth finish on one face with sanded on the reverse face. PROMATECT®-N provides an architectural surface ready to receive most forms of decoration. PROMATECT®-N is suitable for internal and semi-exposed external non-loadbearing applications such as ceiling linings, soffits, etc.
PROMATECT®-N boards are non-combustible, and can be worked in the same way as timber materials. They will not rot or support the growth of mould, apart from not attracting pests due to their inorganic properties.
Promat SYSTEMPANEL™ is Promat’s newest matrix technology of binding organic materials and inorganic minerals within a calculated mineral matrix to form a monolithic core. Producing Cement Bound Matrix is very economical on energy. It does not require high temperatures for curing or drying. In addition, at least 25% of the composition is recycled waste. This is truly an environmentally friendly board leaving little carbon footprints, and does not emit or produce green house gases.

It is recommended that panels are stored flat and in dry conditions and protected from water once installed. However if panels get wet or saturated they must be handled with care and allowed to dry out before being fully enclosed.

PROMATECT®-L is resistant to the effects of moisture and will not physically deteriorate when used in damp or humid conditions. Performance characteristics are not degraded by age or moisture. Untreated surfaces will absorb water which can cause some loss of strength but strength is regained after drying. PROMATECT®-L does not encourage mould growth and is resistant to attack by vermin.
PROMATECT®-L is chemically inert and is resistant to dilute acids and alkalis. Boards should be protected where high chemical concentrations are likely to occur.
PROMATECT®-L500 is a lightweight mineral matrix engineered board which is off-white/beige in colour and has a smooth sanded surface on one face with a lightly honeycombed texture on the reverse face.
